Marten Derne is forcibly sent to the future leaving his Back Timer in the past. He knows how to survive because he is cunning, determined and basically he is pissed off.

The Making of a Back Timer
The procedure is both dangerous and painful with little hope for success. Yet, many had volunteered. It starts with specialized medication being intravenously injected into the body. The subject is left paralyzed yet alert as the procedure continues. The subject is placed into a hibernation chamber that is sealed and then fills with a specialized liquid. For those who go through this procedure they feel like they are being drowned. The subject falls into state of suspended animation only to awaken hundreds of years in the future. If they survive. If they are found and revived, then and only then will they know if they have a Back Timer. If they are able to create a connection to their past self, the individual in the future gains great recognition while the person they were in the past is their Back Timer.
In the first Back Timers story Marten Derne is destined to go through such a procedure but he is never given a choice nor does he understand the risk. He is forcibly sent from a time where war is breaking out everywhere on earth referred to as the age of wars. Back Timers Frozen World is his story.
What’s a tough guy to do? Marten Derne has forcibly been transported to a future age in this lighthearted saga. What is worse a cultlike figure with questionable intentions appears to be in control. Bewildered and pissed off he is not going to give in as he adapts to a strange new world while he wonders whom he can trust.
He may be irreverent, contemptuous, even cantankerous while prone to profanity but there is something about him to cheer for.
Just an ordinary confused anti-hero trying to survive on a path he had not chosen.
A new series about special individuals who after being sent to a future age have the ability to maintain a connection to their their Back Timers, their previous selves, in a past age.
Frozen World is the first in this series with more planned to come.
